Cleaning day and fishy faces

There comes a time(or several) in every makeup lover's life where she/he has to clean her/his brushes. It is a task that I tend to push over as long as my conscience lets me, everyone that has gone through this may agree with me that it is tedious and boring... or is it really just me?

This is fun :D

Cleaning all this, not fun at all.

Anyway, I thought to make it a little less boring I would take time to document it. It was hard I have to admit, but it took away that "ugh I hate cleaning the brushes" feeling. Disclaimer: I do like having everything clean and in its place, nothing like shown in the picture!! Haha!!

Time to begin our task!!

First, gather all the ingredients to have our brushes shinning clean :)

1. Your dirty brushes
2. A towell
3. Speakers... Music is an esential, always. (This one: Bose Speaker )
4. A plastic plate
5. Olive oil (or any oil, it helps conditioning the hairs of the brush and makes the cleaning process a little less harsh for our babies ;) )
6. Liquid dish soap

When all the members are in place for the party, to make the cleanser: for every part of the dish soap I put in the plate two parts of oil.

And the heavy work begins... Take the brush and dip that bad boy in each part...

I go into the soap first...

And then dip it in the oil

It is just like washing your hair... Give it a few swirls on your hand and rinse with water, I repeat the process until I see no color coming out of them.

To put it away to dry, I take the towel and fold it to give the tail of the brush a lift. (The brush handle can't get wet, it doesn't take it very well)

This is what happens when you think a little water never hurt nobrush :p
Think again...

Repeat the process until you go through all the brushes

And after what felt like an eternity... I FINISHED!!!!

Here's the before and after :)

Good night, xoxo,
